if i inpaint it always leaves a grey mark around the marked area, also with applying colour correction any ideas?

Be a bit more generous with your mask. It may look like you have painted everything out. But, digital images often have some bleed into adjacent pixels. You might try tinkering with your Padding Pixels value, but I don't know much about that.
