Off Topic How to download pictures off of Instagram

If you haven't yet noticed, right clicking on a picture on the Gram doesn't allow for saving or opening in a new tab. So, how the hell are we supposed to keep nourishing the beautiful threads on this forum with tasty and delicious content? I'll show you. I've screenshotted my steps as well. (This is done in Google Chrome)

1. Go to the user's Instagram page.
2. Click on the photo you wish to save
3. Right click on the photo
4. Click "View Page Source"
5. Click Ctrl+F and type in jpg
6. Go the the first result
7. Highlight the link all the way from the beginning of the quotation mark to the end (Don't include the quotation marks)
8. Right click and select "Go to https//..."
9. This will open the image in a new tab and you can right click and save it

10. Share that shit with u

This really Seems like the long way to get there.

1. Instead of using View source click on "Inspect" (for chrome) "Inspect element" (for Firefox)

2. It will Highlight the place in the code. you just need to click the Arrow expander to see the image links. Click the thing red arrow is pointing at to expand.

3. you will see an '<img>' tag. In there will be various sizes of the image for faster loading and screen sizes. Don't let it intimidate you, the best quality image is the very last one. just right click and open in then tab.

4. Then right-click and save. You're done.

Here is an example of the HTML image tag that Instagram uses. I spaced out the different size images so you can see its very simple.

HTML:
<img alt="Image may contain: one or more people, bedroom and indoor" class="FFVAD" decoding="auto" sizes="480px" srcset="

1)
in firefox:
Tools>Page Info>Media>
scroll down on the list of addresses until you find what you want
[as you scroll, the images appear in the media preview screen]
>save as

or
2)
download a plugin the allows you to download the image directly off the page
[ex. IG Helper]

Pages like Instagram or some imagehoster use a transparent overlay to protect the image.
Here's what you need: Firefox and the Plugin "Nuke Anything".
Right click on the image, chose "remove this object" and TADAA, it's an image underneath that you can save normally.
I think this plugin is really essential and i 've been using it for many years.

That's the way I do it, only I open the Info pop-up by pressing 'Ctrl-i'.

I also download images and stories when I can't be bothered to log-in by changing the first part of the address from 'instagram.com' to 'saveig.org', which has dedicated 'Download' buttons on everything.
